Hello. I’m Jordan. I am a Ph.D. candidate and a public historian in Washington, D.C. At American University, my research focuses on the entwined histories of slavery and the state, and my dissertation traces how slave-catching shaped Americans’ understanding of race, violence, and governance. Outside of the academy, I am a Digital Experience assistant at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History. The best way to reach me isĀ Twitter, but if you’d like to talk about movies, you can find me on Letterboxd.
