Hello. I’m Jordan. I am a Ph.D. candidate and a public historian in Washington, D.C. At American University, my research focuses on the entwined histories of slavery and the state, and my dissertation traces how slave-catching shaped Americans’ understanding of race, violence, and governance. Outside of the academy, I am a New Media assistant at the National Museum of American History, where I manage digital outreach for the American Enterprise exhibition. The best way to reach me isĀ Twitter, but if you’d like to talk about movies, you can find me on Letterboxd.
